The Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Tortosa is an organisation
the aim of which is to promote trade and industry in the far south of Catalonia, one of
the Spanish regions with the fastest industrial growth, regarded as one of the 4 motors
of Europe alongside Rhône-Alpes, Lombardy and Baden-Württemberg.
It is an area of great natural beauty with 2 nature reserves (Parc Natural dels Ports and
Parc Natural del Delta de l'Ebre), alongside the Mediterranean Sea, with the Ebro river
running all the way through the region.
As far as transport is concerned, the area links the regions of Catalonia, Valencia and
Aragon along the AP-7 motorway and the N-340 road, which runs between Barcelona and
Valencia, plus the C-230 (C-12) providing access to Saragossa and France. There is a
complete rail network and various ports.
